Work-life Balance is generally defined as things related to uptime, flexibility, welfare, family, demographics, migration, leisure time, and so on. Work-life balance is essential because if this is not fulfilled it will result in low job satisfaction, low level of happiness, the occurrence of conflict between employees, and employee fatigue.

Everyone or individual always faces demands on their time, ranging from their work and life requirements. If they are unable to balance these two things, then it can result in unhealthy living or life imbalance. The balance of work and life has been an important topic in today's studies and discussions because of its impact on public health and overall business outcomes.

Public health is either influenced by high pressure or high working demands that can cause a wide range of stress-related illnesses. The situation is exacerbated because work can affect life, and an unhealthy choice of life is a common thing that happens a lot.

Meanwhile, for business outcomes that are affected because employees ' stress is poorly performing and their unhealthy living choices have led to an even greater incidence of an absence of illness (absence of work).

The good side is that now governments and companies are interested enough on this issue, meaning that work and life balance has indeed become a big enough center for them.

How Work Can Affect Life

A healthy life needs attention to important aspects of life such as family, children, friends, and hobbies. High pressure on the situation and working conditions as well as the time spent on activity resulted in many workers who did not pay attention to this. As a result, this important aspect tends to be ignored.

The safety and comfort of the work have also been considerably changed along with the competition in the modern working world as it is today. The competitive information and pressure technology have led to the loss of the previous phenomenon of working for life with only one employer.

Employees generally seek better opportunities while employers may find ways to reduce costs by replacing less productive employees. Both of these things cause quite frequent changes in the work and even to return to the workplace has added the stress and pressure faced by employees.

Unbalanced Living Conditions

Rising in workplace violence, increases in attendance levels, and increased tendencies to worker compensation claims have made employers well aware that they need more work-balance and the lives of their employees.

In the employees ' personal lives, inadequate time for family life and childcare, cause conflict on marital problems, and a generation that is increasingly addicted to harmful substances and their way of life.

On the other hand, the pressures created by the situation and working conditions may also affect the health and sexual life of the employees.

Achieving Work And Life Balance

A personal full of ambition, a culture of employee consumerism, emphasis on "work ethic" and ignoring the personal and time-hardened life caused by the demands of work, travel, and personal affairs all contribute to the work balance and the lives of employees.

Remedial actions need to focus on a particular aspect, among others:
  • Personal training to focus employees ' attention on the essentials to live a healthy life and fulfill family relationships.
  • Employers realize the benefits of assisting their employees in finding work and life balance through training programs, flexible working hours, and other actions.
Research has shown that with the presence of several levels of control for employees to choose when, where, and how they work, then employers can realize significant business benefits.

Here are 10 work and life balance Tips for you as quoted from, which you can apply now to start a more stress-free life, among others as follows:

1. Take More Time To Refreshment

When was the last time you took a while to come out while from work to fully do refreshment?

One of the best ways to create a work environment is to keep high productivity and creativity awake by taking yourself outside of your work routine and removing yourself completely from work and doing refreshments.

By taking time for yourself, you will get clarity on what is most important, both now and in the future, and you will be back fresh, energized, and motivated when returning to your work. By taking more time to do refreshments, then you have invested in yourself that naturally means you create more balance in your life.

2. Unleash Fear

Many people, whether they are entrepreneurs, business owners, leaders, or managers are worried that if they do not work, or do not look at work every day, then they will probably lose something important. Businesses may fail or they may not get promotional positions or anything of material nature. There is always a word something behind it all. There is a feeling that something bad can happen if not enough time invested or "I can always work on something else ".

But, what if you believe in yourself that you have worked pretty well, you achieve and do something meaningful, and feel that you are important?

Once you have beliefs and beliefs, then you can let go of the fear that there is ' always more '. You will feel more excited, productive, and know that what you accomplish so far is good enough.

3. Prioritize Your Day

If you re-take a step back and see what's on the list what you should do next, how many things matter? How many things to do that day?

It all starts with a clear understanding of what you think is greater and better for the future. Have you planned it a year ahead? Three years? Ten years? What have you been doing to accomplish this?

Once you understand that, you can work back and make plans and objectives that will help you in achieving your larger goals.

You can set a target time of 90 days to get a result of your goal, and what you actually want to accomplish in the next quarter and then draw a process to get there. From this plan you will understand what is your priority and where should your time be focused.

4. Be Grateful For What You Already Have

Sometimes we are so busy working and dealing with day to day and having our minds in the future that we forget about it here and now, nowadays. I believe it is important to include our gratitude to God as part of our daily lives, to truly see everything in our lives and appreciate what we already have.

Many of us think that being grateful as a reaction. Something happens or someone does something and then you feel grateful. You say thank you, and maybe you will send us an email.

But a far more proactive strategy to create and live a quality life is to actively find the things you value. This will affect your circumstances, but it will also positively impact others. You can send handwritten cards to your loved ones or someone who means a lot to yourself.

5. Learn To Say "No"

It's important to decide what you want to do now, whether you want to build a relationship with WHO, where you want to spend your time. We have so many requests made from ourselves and so many opportunities to do different things that we ultimately say yes to things that we don't want to do.

Have the respect, confidence, and courage to live life on your terms and say "Yes " Just for a very important thing. For everything else that does not matter, should dare to say "No. "

When you have felt clear about who is most important and what is most important to you, then you get clarity about what and who is important and who is not.

Your time stuff is scarce and expensive because it can't be repeated anymore. When you start saying no to most things, then you're going to be more focused and present in everything you say "Yes ".

6. Have More Fun

If you look back on the last week, how much time have you spent just for fun? If not much, then it's time to change everything.

Think about what makes you excited, think about your loved ones and spend time with it. Jump into new things and new relationships. Take some risks, try something new, learn new skills, and start laying the groundwork for a great project you are always pending.

If you feel the need to get out of your comfort zone to have more enjoyable things, then just do it. However, if you want to change your life, having more fun things will keep you energized and motivated.

7. Start Daily Journals

One of the greatest things that have helped me in my personal growth and achievement of goals is to use my journal every day.

This is the place for my dream home. It is home to my creative mind and my thinking tool. This is the place to escape for me. It's also a place to write down thoughts and notes where I am now, what I think, and my belief system.

The habit of writing in my journal feels like a small step but has become transformative. It has become a routine that has influenced other parts of my life.

So start to save a journal. Commit to writing every day, even if it's just for five minutes, and see where your imagination will take you.

8. Provide Time An Hour To Think And Relax

It's amazing what we have, especially when we decide to make time. I often hear an expression of "I don't have time" constantly. What if you change the mind and start dedicating one hour a day to yourself?

One hour to work on yourself. One hour to read. An hour to learn new skills. The time of an hour a day can help us to be more creative and improve energy and focus. And of course, you will improve your skills.

9. Do One Thing You Like, Do It Every Day

One of the best ways to bring in more balance to your life is to recommit to doing the most enjoyable thing for you. If you don't have anything, then I suggest that you try to find something you're interested in. This could be the pleasure of reading, walking, meditating, learning a musical instrument or language, or becoming a better cook or gardener.

Do it for 30 days and it will become a habit. And of course, it will help you reconnect with what you care about.

10. Create More Time With Family

This is the thing that means very much to me and is one of the reasons why I so love my family.

If you can make a little space to spend more time with the people that matter to you, then you'll see a big difference later.

When job demands leave little time for the essentials in your life such as family, children, friends, and hobbies, then your work and the work-life balance becomes disproportionate. Consequently, it can be felt in employee health, stress levels, marriage, child problems, low work performance, attendance, and so on.

Achieving a better balance of work and life requires employee training and orientation changes to the employer. If both have found a point of intersection then it is not impossible to realize.
